English

Just 4 Fun...

In what other language do people drive in a parkway and park in a
driveway?

Why does night fall but never break and day break but never fall?

Why is it that when we transport something by car, it's called a
shipment, but when we transport something by ship, it's called
cargo?

Why are people who ride motorcycles called bikers and people who
ride bikes called cyclists?

In what other language do they call the third hand on the clock the
second hand?

Why is it called a TV set when you get only one?

Why can your nose run and your feet smell?

Sometimes you have to believe that all English speakers should be
committed to an asylum for the verbally insane:

If olive oil is made of olives, what do they make baby oil from?

If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian consume?

A writer is someone who writes, and a stinger is something that
stings.

If harmless actions are the opposite of harmful actions,
why areshameless and shameful behavior the same?

English is a language in which you can turn a light on
and you can turn a light off and you can turn a light out,
but you can't turn a light in;
In which the sun comes up and goes down, but prices
go up and come down.

In which your nose can simultaneously burn up and burn down and your
car can slow up and slow down, in which you can fill in a form by
filling out a form and in which your alarm clock goes off by going on.

Tricky Plurals
===============

We'll begin with a box, and the plural is boxes;
but the plural of ox became oxen not oxes.

One fowl is a goose, but two are called geese,
yet the plural of moose should never be meese.

You may find a lone mouse or a nest full of mice;
yet the plural of house is houses, not hice.

If the plural of man is always called men,
why shouldn't the plural of pan be called pen?

If I spoke of my foot and show you my feet,
and I give you a boot, would a pair be called beet?

If one is a tooth and a whole set are teeth,
why shouldn't the plural of booth be called beeth?

Then one may be that, and three would be those,
yet hat in the plural would never be hose,
and the plural of cat is cats, not cose.

We speak of a brother and also of brethren,
but though we say mother, we never say methren.

Then the masculine pronouns are he, his and him, but imagine the
feminine, she, shis and shim.

Lets face it, English is a crazy language!

bleh digunakan untuk status ym.... :D

This Crazy Language

English is the most widely used language in the history of our
planet. One in every 7 humans can speak it. More than half of the
world's books and 3 quarters of international mail is in English.

Of all the languages,it has the largest vocabulary - perhaps as many as
2 MILLION words. Nonetheless, let's face it - English is a crazy
language.
There is no egg in eggplant nor ham in hamburger; neither
apple nor pine in pineapple. English muffins weren't invented in
England or French fries in France. Sweetmeats are candies while
sweetbreads, which aren't sweet, are meat.

We take English for granted. But if we explore its paradoxes, we
find that quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square and a
guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig.

And why is it that writers write but fingers don't fing, grocers
don't groce and hammers don't ham? If the plural of tooth is teeth,
why isn't the plural of booth beeth? One goose, 2 geese. So one
moose, 2 meese? One index, 2 indices?

Doesn't it seem crazy that you can make am ends but not one amend,
that you comb thru annals of history but not a single annal? If you
have a bunch of odds and ends and get rid of all but one of them,
what do you call it?

If teachers taught, why didn't preacher praught? If a vegetarian
eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat? If you wrote a
letter, perhaps you bote your tongue?

Sometimes I think all the English speakers should be committed to an
asylum for the verbally insane. In what language do people recite at
a play and play at a recital? Ship by truck and send cargo by ship?
Have noses that run and feet that smell?

How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same, while a wise man
and wise guy are opposites? How can overlook and oversee be
opposites, while quite a lot and quite a few are alike? How can the
weather be hot as hell one day and cold as hell another?

Have you noticed that we talk about certain things only when they
are absent? Have you ever seen a horseful carriage or a strapful
gown? Met a sung hero or experienced requited love? Have you ever
run into someone who was combobulated, gruntled, ruly or peccable?

And where are all those people who ARE spring chickens or who would
ACTUALLY hurt a fly?

You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language in which your
house can burn up as it burns down, in which you fill in a form by
filling it out and in which an alarm clock goes off by going on.

English was invented by people, not computers, and it reflects the
creativity of the human race (which, of course, isn't a race at all).

That is why, when the stars are out, they are visible, but
when the lights are out, they are invisible. And why, when I wind up
my watch, I start it, but when I wind up this essay, I end it.

WWE 2010

Maka Kami

tumbuhkan dengan air hujan itu berjenis-jenis dari tumbuh-tumbuhan yang bermacam-macam.

(surah Thaha:53)

Untuk pengetahuan semua, 22.3 adalah hari air sedunia.

World Water Day(WWD) 2010 :Clean Water for a Healthy World).

same-same la raikan WWD ni dengan mandi banyak2....

Dan daripada Abdullah bin Amru bin al-’As sesungguhnya Rasulullah lalu berhampiran Sa’ad

ketika beliau sedang berwudu’, lalu baginda bertanya, “Apakah (mengapakah berlaku)

pembaziran ini wahai Sa’ad?” Sa’ad menjawab, “adakah di dalam wudu’ ada pembaziran?” Nabi

bersabda, “Ya, walaupun berwudu’ di dalam sungai yang mengalir.”

Jangan Membazir air.. Ia juga salah satu amanah..

BTW WWD bukan WWE ...

Sichuan, China (2008)

Umar bin Khaththob berkata:
“Rasulullah saw memerintahkan kami untuk bersedekah, kebetulan saat itu aku
mempunyai harta,” aku berkata: “Hari ini aku akan mengungguli Abu Bakr maka

aku memberikan setengah hartaku.

Selamanya.” (Hadis Riwayat at-Tirmidzi, no. 3675. Abu Dawud, no. 1678. ad-
Darimi, no. 1667. al-Hakim, 1/414. Lihat al-Misykah, 6021)

Anda pasti pernah mendengar kisah ini kan?
Seolah mustahil je ad org yg sanggup derma seluruh harta benda untuk membantu
golongan yang memerlukan bantuan. Sifat pemurah saidina Abu Bakar r.a. wajarlah dicontohi..
Ye ke mustahil?

Cube tengok salah satu gambar dari slide yg ade divideo kat bawah..

klik jika xjelas

Kesahihannye xpasti tp atleast kite sebagai Umat Islam kene ambil iktibar..
Die sanggup menderma kesemua harta die even die sendiri xde rumah..
Adekah sifat pemurah kita sampai tahap ini? ke setakat derma segenih dua je?

btw sekarang bumi kurang stabil.. gempa bumi berlaku dimana2 saje..( arap2
xdekat mesir Nauzubillah..)

Ni slide gempa bumi yg berlaku kat cina pada tahun 2008.
Banyak iktibar kita boleh ambil dari slide2 ni.

Jangan sangka org cine hanye tahu ciplak barang2 je..
Depa pn ade nilai2 murni yg mungkin xde pada kite..
lau xbleh bace tulisan dalam video bleh donload slide kat SINI

sekian...
kalau lagu xsesuai sori ye...
